Cell is Dr. Gero's ultimate creation — a bio-android built from the cells of the greatest warriors: Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Frieza, King Cold, and Tien. He traveled back in time from the future specifically to absorb Androids 17 and 18 and achieve his Perfect Form. Perfect Cell was everything the Red Ribbon Army wanted: calm, sadistic intelligence combined with the raw power of the best fighters in the universe. His Cell Games arc is DBZ at its most operatic — introducing the form, giving the Z Fighters hope, then crushing it until Gohan's SSJ2 emergence turned everything upside down.
