Daima wrapped up its 20-episode run and I have THOUGHTS. This was Toriyama's last series, and I think that context matters when discussing it. What Worked: 1. The Art Style — Going back to a more classic Dragon Ball look with mini versions of the characters was a smart choice. It felt like a love letter to the original series, not just Z or Super. 2. The Demon Realm — Finally exploring this part of the DB universe was overdue. The Third Demon Realm felt like a genuine adventure, which Dragon Ball hasn't really done since the original series. 3. Gomah as a Villain — A new Demon Realm Supreme King who kidnaps Dende and uses the Dragon Balls to shrink everyone? It's goofy in the best Dragon Ball way. Not every villain needs to be a universe-ending threat. 4. Toriyama's Touch — You can feel his humor and adventure spirit throughout. The writing has that classic Toriyama charm that Super sometimes lacked. 5. 100% on Rotten Tomatoes — Only 5 reviews, but still. Critical reception was positive across the board. What Didn't Work: 1. Only 20 Episodes — This needed at least 26-30 episodes. The pacing felt rushed in the second half. 2. Power Scaling Questions — Where does mini Goku fit in the power hierarchy? Are they weakened by being small? The show was inconsistent about this. 3. Limited Character Focus — Vegeta, Gohan, and others got sidelined. It was very Goku-centric. Overall: 7.5/10. Not the best Dragon Ball series, but a worthy final project from Toriyama. The adventure feel was refreshing after Super's constant power escalation. What did you think? And are you excited for The Galactic Patrol Saga coming next?
